Mixing together an international dance company, two senegalese superstars, a renowned percussion group and a composer/DJ with a passion for energy, you get a world of new possibilities. A world where we are not divided by differences, but connected in our empathy for each other. A world where we become islands of empathy, in a sea of chaos.

Exploring empathy
ISLANDS of EMPATHY is a collaboration with Senegalese griots; storytellers who keep traditions and history alive with dance, music and poetry. In the summer of 2023, we headed to Senegal; to talk with spiritual leaders, dancers and artists about empathy and community. These intercultural conversations formed the blueprint for this performance.
